Sometimes, the Obamas simply can’t help themselves.
Rather than show the grace and poise that George W. and Laura Bush accorded them when they exited the White House, Barack and Michelle can’t resist the temptation to comment on the new administration. And any time it happens, they invariably make snide comments about President Trump.
The former first lady’s appearance at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in California was no different. She somehow managed to pivot from a conversation on the tech industry to an undressing of the president on the topics of global warming and illegal immigration.

Obama closed the talk by taking a not-so-subtle jab at President Trump.
“We are at a time in this country where we need problem solvers out there … who believe in the power of immigrants, believe that global warming is real,” she said. “We need people out there who are operating with a level of empathy.”
Then Obama left the stage, walking out to “Best of My Love” by The Emotions … only to be stopped by Tim Cook, who ran onstage to offer a hug and snap a selfie.
Well done, Apple. Invite a guest to trash the current president and respond by running out on stage like an adoring 12-year-old boy band fan, posing for selfies.
As is the norm with Democrats, Obama conflates the concept of immigration, which is legal, with that of illegal immigration, which as its name implies, is not.
Maybe Michelle is just cross with Trump over his systematic gutting of her misguided federal school lunch regulations. If her school lunch program did anything positive, it created a boom in business for food vendors who lined up outside schools at lunchtime to offer the kids an alternative to Obama’s “nutritious” meals, which one child in Kentucky told the first lady to her face “tastes like vomit.”
Or maybe Mrs. O. is just a hypocrite, lashing out at the president for improving border security and declaring that Americans “don’t build walls to keep people out,” while actually constructing a wall around the D.C. mansion she and her hubby just bought for $8 million to keep the riffraff out.
Whatever the reason may be, it’s clear that Trump is, and has been, constantly on the minds of the Obamas. The former real estate mogul lives rent-free in their heads.
