Several reported dead, 10 wounded in shooting inside Munich shopping mall

Several people are dead, and another 10 have been injured at a mall in Munich after a gunman opened fire, according to the Daily Mail, which further notes that the gunman remains at large and citizens have been warned to stay in their homes.

Terrified shoppers were seen running for their lives from the Munich Olympia Shopping Centre, in the district of Moosach, after hearing gunshots.


The area around the [mall] … has been sealed off as emergency services try to control the situation.

Police have confirmed that there a [sic] multiple deaths as a result of the incident and German media have reported there may be up to 15 killed.

Tonight, Munich police tweeted: ‘We currently do not know where to find the perpetrators. Watch yourself and avoid to be the public.’

No information on the identity of the shooter, whether he had compatriots, or what the motives were.

In what is becoming all too familiar a scene, panicked pedestrians were captured on video fleeing the mall. The video below shows police SWAT teams moving in.
