White college student accused of cultural appropriation over this microaggression

Imitation, it is said, is the highest form of flattery. But a black woman in the hallway of a building at San Francisco State University apparently found nothing flattering about a white student wearing a hairstyle imitative of her culture.

A cell phone capture of the fairly dopey exchange picks up the action in progress. At one point the man attempts to walk away but is physically accosted by the woman to which he responds, “Yo, yo, stop touching me,” suggesting that wearing dreadlocks is not the only aspect of her culture he has appropriated.

According to some accounts, the woman threatened off-camera to cut off the man’s hair with scissors.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Los Angeles station KTLA notes that the university is investigating the incident.
