Man arrested for threatening on social media to ‘kill all white people’ in Md. town

Maybe it is a violation of a local ordinance in the town of La Plata, Md., or maybe he was singled out because his threat to kill all the white residents in town was issued in a public forum. Whatever the explanation, Carlos Anthony Hollins is in trouble. Hollins, who is 20, was arrested Wednesday and charged with threats of mass violence for sending this tweet, adding the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter:

twitterThe Twitter account has since been suspended, and Hollins is being held on $250,000 bond.

In addition, the La Plata Police Department has reacted to the threat by deploying additional officers to patrol the streets.

[A] peace order was issued against Hollins in April of 2014 and it expired seven months later. He was also previously charged with trespassing in 2013. Those cases have been closed. There is no information on when Hollins will be in court for a hearing on this latest charge.
