President Obama Puts Himself on the Ballot, Crushes Democrat Hopes
Perhaps less a gaffe than an incredibly unwise political calculation, President Obama killed any Democrat chances in the 2014 midterms by declaring that “every single one” of his policies was on the ballot come Election Day.
Voters responded accordingly, handing Republicans an historic electoral victory – both by numbers and by the content of their candidates. From state legislators to governor races, and of course on to retaining control of the House and regaining control of the Senate, voters agreed that Obama’s polices were on the ballot – and responded by swiftly kicking Democrats out of office.
