Video: Freedom Tower BASE jump

“Footage that’s simultaneously old and new,” Allahpundit writes, explaining that the BASE jump from the top of the Freedom Tower, in New York, that lit up the headlines, occurred six months ago but that the clip didn’t arrive on YouTube until yesterday. (For those unfamiliar with the term BASE jumping, the first word, in all caps, is an acronym for “building, antenna, span, and Earth.”)

The action in the clip below doesn’t begin until 2:39, but from there the ride down is fairly breathtaking. The descent lasts a little over a minute. There is, as Allah notes, profanity. If that bothers you, you’re advised to watch with the sound muted.
