Poll: 88% think soldiers should be allowed to carry guns on military bases

In the wake of the mass killing at Fort Hood yesterday, a  daily poll posted at the Washington Times reveals that 88 percent of Americans believe that soldiers should be allowed to carry guns on military bases. At the time of this writing, 647 people trust soldiers enough to carry weapons.

Only 8 percent, or 67 people, disagreed.

It is clearly way past time to scrap ridiculous “gun free zones” in general. Consider that in both mass killings at Fort Hood (in 2009 and 2014), the ultimate end of the rampages are attributed to vigilant officers who used their weapons to put an end to the violence. Interestingly, during both mass shootings at Fort Hood, the “good guy with a gun” turned out to be a woman, as discussed at Tavern Keepers. Imagine if there were more good guys (or gals) with weapons onsite.

Lives would have been saved.
