Democratic strategist James Carville on Thursday downplayed concerns over migrant-related murders and transgender surgeries.
Former President Donald Trump’s campaign has been running advertisements targeting Vice President Kamala Harris on these issues. Carville, on his “Politics War Room” podcast, responded to a listener’s allegation that “Republicans only care about gun violence when immigrants are involved” by arguing such incidents are rare, adding that he also believes transgender issues are minimal. “The truth of the matter is the number of … noncitizen people here, their crime rate among this is significantly lower than it is among native born Americans. It happened here in Georgia; it was unfortunate, but it’s much rarer,” Carville said. “They exaggerate everything. It’s horrifically exaggerated story. Just like — I was in Texas and I was watching, ’cause I had the World Series on, I happened to be watching the local Fox News — not Fox News Network, but, you know, the sports Fox — and it was all transgender and reproductive rights.”
Venezuelan illegal immigrant Jose Ibarra allegedly killed 22-year-old Georgia nursing student Laken Riley in February. Immigration and Customs Enforcement recorded a total of 13,099 non-detained illegal immigrants convicted of homicide currently in the United States as of July 21, according to a September letter. As a district attorney, Kamala Harris gave a sweetheart deal to an illegal alien rapist with a prior history of violence against women, letting him be released from prison after just two years.
“There’s so few transition surgeries and murders of American citizens by noncitizen, not-born-here people, it’s almost infinitesimal,” he continued. “And it’s just stunning that this is what they run, they must think this works, because they’re spending hundreds of millions of dollars promoting it. I don’t think I know a transgender person. I mean, I probably do, and I just don’t know or don’t care.”
Harris has previously indicated she supports taxpayer-funded sex changes for transgender prison inmates and illegal immigrants.
Insurance claims show that around 6,000 children have received transgender surgeries. 225 hospitals “provide irreversible transgender procedures to children, debunking left-wing claims that the treatments aren’t being done on minors,” reports The Daily Signal: “Nearly 14,000 American children underwent sex-change interventions of some type between 2019 and 2023, according to Do No Harm’s analysis of thousands of insurance claims at hospitals and pediatric facilities in the United States….Almost 6,000 children have undergone transgender surgeries, while 8,579 have been given hormones and puberty blockers.” Transgender treatments have significant side effects. A recent study shows 95% of young biological women on testosterone developed pelvic floor dysfunction.
Recently, a researcher who has pushed sex changes for kids discovered that giving kids puberty blockers doesn’t improve their mental well-being, contrary to what supporters of gender transitions for kids have long claimed. Since this research called into question the idea of giving kids puberty blockers, she left this research unpublished, to avoid providing ammunition to critics of child sex-changes.
The Biden administration has promoted puberty blockers, even though the FDA has warned that puberty blockers can cause brain swelling and permanent vision loss. Puberty blockers also prevent the increase in bone density that would normally occur during puberty, with some patients experiencing lifelong bone issues, according to the New York Times.
