We already know that white lives don’t matter. What we don’t know is how much they don’t matter. No one has bothered to quantify the relative worthlessness of white lives, though inroads are being made. Data gathered for the 2018 American National Election Studies (ANES) pilot study reveals that left-leaning white people are 13.7 points in the red when it comes to evaluating the self-worth of their group. As conservative journalist Andy Ngo notes, these whites are the only group for which data were gathered that views its own race negatively. Now another data point has been established, though this numerical value is far more intuitive than scientific. It comes out of Notre Dame University, where activists are demanding that at least 50% of white male authors be removed from the curriculum. There you have it: White lives, especially those of men, are worth about half what lives of non-whites are worth.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
The group making the demand calls itself End Hate at Notre Dame, prompting Faye Higbee at Conservative Firing Line to ask rhetorically, “Do they even see that their own hate toward white males is driving this demand?”
According to The College Fix:
It’s one of several demands the “End Hate at ND” group has put forth recently. The group describes itself as “an initiative for organizing civil action against racist, xenophobic, sexist, trans-exclusionary, & queer-phobic structures at Notre Dame.”
The protesters’ demands also include diversity trainings in dorms, an end to a longstanding campus policy that forbids students from spending the night in the dorms of the opposite sex, and calls for the university to work with local Native American tribes.
I’m not entirely sure what “spending the night in the dorms of the opposite sex,” but I’m willing to be that it was some of the male protesters who came up with that demand.
The whole endeavors is being portrayed as “an effort to eliminate the violence of only privileging white scholarship.” Violence? Sure, why not?
This is not the first assault on literature that offends by dint of its being written by whites and/or males. In 2017, an Ohio bookstore observed Women’s History Month by turning every book written by a man so that its spine faced the back of the shelf. Virtual book burning anyone?
