On Friday, Fox 11 reported that a viral photo has been taken out of context by immigration activists and is now being used to ruin an innocent woman’s life. Among those engaged in spreading the false narrative is MSNBC propagandist Joy Reid.
The brouhaha started when Alan Vargas, a 17-year-old teen activist from California, tweeted an image of a woman identified as Roslyn La Liberte engaging in a discussion with 14-year old Joseph Luevano at a Simi Valley City Council meeting dealing with sanctuary cities.
In the tweet, Vargas, described by BizPac Review as a “Twitter bully,” made it appear as though La Liberte made racist statements against Levano.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

And “put on blast” she was.
According to BizPac Review:
Over 60,000 left-wing zealots had retweeted his post by Sunday morning, including MSNBC host Joy Reid, a woman known for her own fair share of false narratives.
And just like that La Liberte has become public enemy number one: The left has branded her a monster, launched a boycott of her business and harassed her:

She was also doxxed and turned into a meme:

There’s only one problem. Both La Liberte and Luevano say their discussion was civil and not what the Twitter mob claims it was.
According to Fox 11:
During a recess in the meeting the teenager says he started a conversation with the woman to try and understand her feelings, “but, I felt like she was still trying to keep it civil which I appreciate .”
Both he and his mom say there were rude people saying ugly things like the teen would be the first to be deported. For the record, he was born and raised in this part of Southern California and he didn’t like that. But, he says, what you see in the photo isn’t a confrontation but a conversation.
La Liberte says, I never said anything disparaging. I never did.”
La Liberte and her husband tell us people have been calling their phone to harass her. She says the picture couple with the spread of social media has been incredibly damaging. First, she says, “I look like a monster. If I saw that i would be upset.” She says one of her clients has already dumped her because of the photo.
The teen says, I heard some people were boycotting this woman’s business. I don’t really want that… because she was being civil.”
Here’s the Fox 11 video report:
Exit question: Now that we know the outrage was misdirected, will Reid publicly apologize and retract her statement? Somehow, we doubt it…
