Martin Luther King, Jr., must be turning over in his grave. His “dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed … ‘that all men are created equal'” has not only been trampled on but made a mockery of. If he were alive today, King would be chastised for even daring to quote that sexist passage from the Declaration of Independence.

The segregation that he spent his life working to overcome is back with a vengeance. Nowadays, equality means “inequality” — at least until the “score is settled.” Men, of which King was one, have had their turn at the helm, liberals tell us. Now it’s time for non-men (in every sense of the word) to take their place in the sun.

This policy is reflected in a recent memo about job openings in the DNC that specified that “cisgender straight white males” need not apply. Dr. King would have excluded on three of the four counts.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

But it’s not only certain races and sexes on which the hard Left has conferred “protected class” status. It’s also certain religions — make that religion, singular. As Ezra Levant explains at TheRebel:

The City of Toronto, and Toronto taxpayers, now have a special program that only hires Muslim staff, that are assigned to work in city councillors’ offices.

Those embedded Muslim activists aren’t even chosen by the city, but by something called Dawanet. Do you know what “Dawa” means? It’s means Muslim evangelism.

Of course, there is no Christian placement, whereby the local bishop puts in his men and women into city hall. There is no Jewish, Sikh or Hindu version.

This is no surprise.

For years, the Valley Park Middle School, a public school paid for by taxpayers, has had a mosque operating out of their cafeteria. But try saying the Lord’s Prayer in a school. You’ll face a lawsuit.

Of course liberals don’t call segregation by that name, which carries ugly connotations. Instead, they have come up with euphemisms. When black students at Princeton University demanded in 2016 that they be able to room exclusively with their own kind, the administration whitewashed(!) this call for self-segregation by dubbing it affinity housing.
