Petition demands Donald Trump be arrested and prosecuted for … what?

Petition demands Donald Trump be arrested and prosecuted for … what?

On Thursday, the Facebook page for Presente.org posted a video and said that GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump should be “criminally investigated and arrested.” The charge? “Inciting violence.” The petition also demands Trump and his campaign be investigated by Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

“Donald Trump and his presidential campaign are dangerous — particularly for Latinos, immigrants, and communities of color — and must be confronted urgently,” the group says on its website. “If Trump’s actions are left unchecked, he will continue to create a hostile and violent environment for so many of our communities.”

The petition urges Lynch and state attorneys general to “conduct a full criminal investigation of Trump’s actions and the actions of his campaign and representatives, and if the investigation shows he committed these crimes noted below, that he be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” The petition also references the incident in which Univision’s Jorge Ramos was briefly removed from a campaign event after causing a disruption. “Recently, Trump had a prominent Latino journalist forcefully removed from a press conference for asking questions Trump didn’t like,” the petition adds. A Spanish-language audio indicates that Ramos “hunted” Trump for some time before the confrontation.

Additionally, the petition claims Trump admitted bribing “public officials from both major political parties.” According to the petition, Trump allegedly made the admission during the first GOP presidential debate.

“There have been no repercussions or criminal investigations, and this is unacceptable,” the petition reads. “Trump’s hateful and possibly criminal actions are destructive to American democracy and the rule of law, and have led to acts of violence against Latinos. Billionaires and presidential candidates cannot operate above the law. You have the responsibility and authority to hold Trump accountable.” (Interestingly, the group neglected to create a second petition for the other filthy rich presidential candidate in the current field who has also operated above the law: Hillary Clinton.)

On Wednesday, a Trump rally in Richmond, Virginia, turned violent after immigration activists began heckling the candidate. Trump supporters responded angrily, and according to reports, shoved the activists and grabbed their signs. According to other reports, activists wearing profane anti-Trump shirts got violent with Trump supporters before being removed by state police.

Nevertheless, the Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft said, “CNN blamed conservatives and even reported that a Trump supporter spit on an activist.” The Huffington Post issued the same report and said a Trump supporter “shouted expletives” in one activist’s face.
