Why getting tattoos can be a risky proposition

Why getting tattoos can be a risky proposition

Putting aside the pain, risk of infection, and considerable expense, tattoos carry a heavy price. That is what aspiring model Ellia Beasley learned. According to Wales Online, the 22-year-old had had the lyrics of songs by rocker Ian Watkins, whom she admired, tattooed on body. As she explained to reporters:

I wanted to have a tattoo across the bottom of my stomach and I thought lyrics [of “Scream Your Heart Out”] would look good there so I chose that line because I liked the song.

She didn’t stop there. She went on to have 20 more tats emblazoned across her arms, legs, and body.

But in December of that year Watkins was charged with pedophilia, and suddenly his lyrics rang hollow. Beasley was forced to endure more than 10 hours of  what she describes as “horrific pain” to have them obscured.
