Why is there a snowboard shop inside the White House?

We all know who resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. The current occupants of the domicile at that address are the president of the United States and his family, which includes his mother-in-law.

But according to Google Maps, Edward Snowden, whistle-blower extraordinnaire, also lives there. Well, at first blush anyway. When you look more closely, you notice that the actual name is Edwards Snow Den.

But that raises a whole new slew of questions, starting with what is Edwards Snow Den? According to the website Marketing Land, it’s a snowboard shop, and its verified address is 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue:

But Edwards is not the only business doing business at the presidential mansion. A second glimpse at the map reveals that there is a law firm operating within the White House gates. It has the curious name, moreover, of “cCross law firm”:

For this one, no explanation exists.

Gizmodo, which broke the story, noted that Google would likely delete the White House listing for both … which it has done.
