It has?? Phew, what a load off! Or maybe the correct sentiment is merely “What a load.” From the official White House transcript of remarks made by Obama from Estonia last night, where he joined that nation’s president in a presser:
Whatever these murderers think they’ll achieve by killing innocent Americans like Steven [Sotloff], they have already failed. They have failed because, like people around the world, Americans are repulsed by their barbarism. We will not be intimidated. Their horrific acts only unite us as a country and stiffen our resolve to take the fight against these terrorists. And those who make the mistake of harming Americans will learn that we will not forget, and that our reach is long and that justice will be served.
And what is Obama planning to do in the service of his threat “to take the fight” to “these terrorists”? Er … give him a chance. He’s working on it. Maybe he’ll lodge a formal protest with the World Court or something. Or maybe he’ll urge “our partners” to ostracize the terrorists. Or maybe he’ll freeze their bank accounts. Oh, wait…
