If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em — or something along those lines. Weasel Zippers notes via the New York Post that WestView News, a New York City community monthly paper serving the West Village, has an opinion piece that takes aim at the anti-black “racism” of far-right voters.
And how does the article’s author, James Lincoln Collier, express his displeasure with this racial tarring and feathering of a president who has done so much good? By headlining the piece “The N****r in the White House,” where the asterisks are replaced by the letter string “igge.”
The Post quotes residents who are offended by the headline. Many are left wondering what George Capsis, the 86-year-old editor/publisher of WestView News, was thinking. His baffling answer: “The editorial staff continues to object” to the n-word.
