ISIS’s latest video oeuvre is entitled “The end of Sykes-Picot,” and proclaims a new “caliphate” under ISIS rule. The announcement lost a lot of headline momentum when the U.S. Supreme Court handed down its decision on the Obamacare contraception mandate on Monday, and Israeli authorities revealed that the bodies of the three teen boys kidnapped by Hamas near Hebron in mid-June had been found.
But although most readers won’t bother to watch the entire ISIS video, the last few seconds of it are likely to get more attention. (In fact, the last couple of minutes are worth watching for the comical effect. The terrorists are clearly getting a Darwin-bait charge out of operating the siren on a pick-up truck outfitted as an emergency vehicle.)
The Sykes-Picot video is narrated in English, and obviously directed at Westerners — and at Americans, in particular. The video’s tag line is a taunt addressed to Obama:
“Obama, did you prepare enough diapers for your soldiers, or not?”
