Bernie Sanders pins blame for VA scandal on … Koch brothers?

Harry Reid is not the only Senator who caucuses with the Democrats and suffers from KBDS (Koch Brothers Derangement Syndrome). From the Washington Free Beacon:

Chairman of the Veterans Affairs Committee Sen. Bernie Sanders (D., Vt.) appeared to blame the VA scandal on the Koch brothers last Friday at a North Hampton, MA forum with The Nation’s John Nichols.

[…]

Sanders forcefully defended the VA and other federal agencies at the forum, stating the VA provides “very high quality healthcare” and programs such as Medicare and Social Security are “enormously popular.”

The Department of Veterans affairs has come under withering scrutiny after reports surfaced of systematic abuses within the system, including delays in life-saving cancer tests.

Although caution in fixing blame has been urged by the administration, Sanders decided to point fingers at the guilty parties. In the audio that follows, he speaks in glowing terms of the job the VA has done before saying (ca. 1:23):

There is right now, as we speak, a concerted effort to undermine the VA. What are the problems? The problems are, is, that all of these are large, governmental institutions and you have folks out there now, Koch Brothers and others, who want to radically change the nature of society, and either make major cuts in all of these institutions, or maybe do away with them entirely.

The sudden obsession with the Kochs must come as a source of relief for former Pres. George W. Bush, who was blamed by Barack Obama and his minions for the ills of the nation dating back practically to the Great Depression.
