Quick Takes

Ayn Rand, the musical

Ayn Rand, the pro-capitalist author and philosopher whose novel “The Fountainhead” has enjoyed a resurgence in the era of Obaman big government, also penned a less well known novella titled “Anthem.”

A sci-fi musical inspired by it, “The Anthem,” will make its off-Broadway world premiere this May.

Theater Mania notes that the play is set in a far-off future in “a social media gone mad world, where individuality is illegal.” The production includes an expansive aerial and circus environment.

No word yet on whether Organizing for Action plans a boycott or whether the IRS has special plans for the producers.
