It’s unclear whether Rep. Jerrold Nadler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, will behave as pompous or clownishly as his cohort, Adam Schiff, did in the first round of the Trump impeachment circus. What does seem clear about the next round of impeachment hearings, which are scheduled to begin Dec. 4, is that Nadler will lead off, as Schiff did, with an opening statement.
If that is the case, Nadler is advised to use this videotaped message of himself recorded in 1998 in place of a new spiel. It will save taxpayers time and money.
In fact, Nadler need not show the entire video but instead should run the footage stating at 0:30. Here is the text:
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
There must never be a narrowly voted impeachment, or an impeachment substantially supported by one of our major political parties and largely opposed by the other. Such an impeachment would lack legitimacy, would produce divisiveness and bitterness in our politics for years to come.
