It’s an ordeal that Christopher Jost won’t soon forget. Jost picked his daughter up at the movies last Saturday. As they headed out into traffic, Jost’s car was rear-ended hard. Then it happened again. In no time flat, Jost realized he was being rammed deliberately from behind by a lunatic.
Raleigh ABC affiliate WTVD (h/t the Blaze) has the transcript of Jost’s 911 call:
Dispatcher: 911 What’s the location of your emergency?
Caller: I’ve got a guy that’s following me, and he’s rear-ended me and now he’s following me again…. [Screaming, inaudible]
Dispatcher: And what is your name?
Caller: He hit us again! Oh my God!
Dispatcher: And what is your name?
Caller: [Screaming] He just hit us again! … He’s hit me three times now, and here he comes again.
Fearing for his daughter’s life and his own, Jost pulled into a parking lot hoping the police would arrive soon to intercept a moving target.
Dispatcher: OK and you’re like circling the Whole Foods parking lot?
Caller: I’m trying to figure out what his plate is. [Screaming] He just hit me four times now!
Caller: [Screaming] Look, he just broke my window, broke my car. I’m freaking out! Jesus! He’s trying to kill us! Please!
Now desperate, Jost stopped his car near the entrance to a store. Clutching his daughter, he ran inside, pursued by the driver who had been ramming him.
Fortunately, the police arrived at the same moment. They were required to Tase the individual before they could subdue him. The perpetrator has been identified by the Raleigh Police Department as Remy Blaisdell Gagon. He faces two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of simple assault, and one count of careless and reckless driving. No court date has been set.
Jost and his daughter were shaken up but otherwise unharmed. Jost’s car (shown above) is another story.
