Hooray for Hollywood! German retirees have too much time on hands

Some things just deserve an “A” for effort.  A group of old-timers from the Contilia Retirement Group in Essen, Germany decided to make a calendar in which some of them reenacted iconic scenes from favorite movies.  Perhaps some scenes come off better than others, but you’d have to be an incurable killjoy to find one to actually dislike here.

Essen Bond a

Bond.  James Bond.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Essen Rocky a

Gonna fly now.

Essen Easy a

Mr. Walter Loeser, riding easy on the left, was the oldest participant, at age 98.

Essen Seven a

Ingeborg Giolbass, 84, assumes the Marilyn Monroe pose from The Seven-Year Itch.  (Note: if Norma Jeane were still alive, she’d turn 88 on 1 June 2014.)

Essen group end

This guy was apparently in charge, and arranged to have all the luck.
