Self-styled ‘science guy’ Bill Nye: For climate change science to advance, older people need to die

Republicans aren’t the only ones who want you to die. If you’re “old,” alleged “science guy” Bill Nye also wants you to die.

In an interview published Wednesday in the Los Angeles Times, Nye said that older people have to die off before so-called “climate change” science can advance. The reason, he said, is that older people are more resistant to the environmentalist propaganda.

“It just sounds like people are scared,”he said. “It just sounds like people are afraid. And the people who are afraid in general — with due respect, and I am now one of them — are older. Climate change deniers, by way of example, are older. It’s generational. So we’re just going to have to wait for those people to ‘age out,’ as they say. ‘Age out’ is a euphemism for ‘die.’ But it’ll happen, I guarantee you — that’ll happen.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

He guarantees that we’ll die? How insightful. Those science guys really are smart.

A post at CNET observed:

Death is, indeed, inevitable. But the received wisdom has it that people become more conservative as they age. Well, everywhere but California, where they simply smoke more pot. So won’t today’s young people become more like previous generations, grizzling at those who claim to have new answers?

Nye, though, came dangerously close to suggesting older people were dingbats.

To him, science began to become a dirty word in the 80s, when today’s older generation was in its prime. Science was, he said, replaced by the worship of money.

“It’s hard not to be critical of people who want to be ignorant but I don’t think it can last,” he said. “I don’t think the celebration of dingbatitude can stick with us because we’ll get out-competed by the non-dingbats.”

In its way, then, it does come down to money. The reason for scientific progress, in Nye’s view, is to keep America ahead economically.

An article at Young Conservatives wasn’t quite as forgiving, calling Nye’s suggestion, “pretty darn cold”:

… [T]hat’s a tolerant leftist for you.

Gee, wonder why older people tend to be deniers?

Because they were raised with actual science?

And before the environmental indoctrination began of young people in schools?

Of course, back then, people were encouraged and allowed to think for themselves. But that’s no longer the case as so-called “institutes of higher learning” have become little more than left-wing indoctrination centers where Marxist professors spew propaganda and punish those who dare to speak out.

Keep in mind it wasn’t that long ago that Nye suggested jailing those who disagree with his ideas on climate change. Just like a typical left-wing statist.

In April 2016, the Washington Times reported:

Asked about the heated rhetoric surrounding the climate change debate, such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s previous comments that some climate skeptics should be prosecuted as war criminals, Mr. Nye replied, “We’ll see what happens.”

“Was it appropriate to jail the guys from Enron?” Mr. Nye asked in a video interview with Climate Depot’s Marc Morano. “We’ll see what happens. Was it appropriate to jail people from the cigarette industry who insisted that this addictive product was not addictive, and so on?”

“In these cases, for me, as a taxpayer and voter, the introduction of this extreme doubt about climate change is affecting my quality of life as a public citizen,” Mr. Nye said. “So I can see where people are very concerned about this, and they’re pursuing criminal investigations as well as engaging in discussions like this.”

Now, he thinks death is the answer.

Of course, Nye realizes that not all deniers are old and ready to “age old,” but he is another solution for dealing with younger deniers: Lock them in the loony bin. Earlier this year, he appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show on Fox News, where he declared that climate deniers suffer psychological delusions:

Scratch a liberal, find a bloodthirsty hatemonger.
