Picture of the day: John Kerry riding pink girl’s bike while world burns

A photo was snapped Sunday of Secretary of State John Kerry riding a pink girl’s bike in Nantucket, proving he can out-feminize the president, while being just as disengaged.

The picture was taken by Nantucket visitor Owen Perkins, who posted it to his Instagram account, according to National Review Online.

The photo apparently answers a question posed by Boston Herald columnist Kimberly Atkins, who said Kerry sent the wrong message by disappearing after his return from India where he touted climate change. He obviously spent the weekend at his family estate on the island.

A State Department press secretary couldn’t confirm Kerry’s whereabouts over the weekend, and emails to several of his top aides went unanswered, according to National Review.

NRO noted that this wasn’t the only time Kerry played hooky. It reported:

The secretary took heat last summer when he was photographed yachting and kayaking off the coast of Nantucket in the midst of the turmoil in Egypt that saw the overthrow of president Mohamed Morsi. The State Department initially denied the report, which was published by CBS News, saying that Kerry was “working all day and on the phone dealing with the crisis in Egypt.” When the pictures surfaced, Foggy Bottom retracted that claim and told reporters that Kerry was “briefly on his boat,” but was on the phone with world leaders throughout the day.

Here’s the pic. Doesn’t he look cute?

After the Kerry photo got tweeted, the Twitterverse lit up. Here are a few examples:

Here, as a memory refresher, is Kerry’s boss accompanied by one of his daughters on nearby Martha’s Vineyard. In the snapshot, the leader of the free world looks even dorkier, if such a thing is possible.
