Common Core math: So hard to comprehed a PhD can’t hack it

This is rapidly becoming an epidemic. A child is assigned a math problem to be solved using the enigmatic methods taught in schools that are using the Common Core Curriculum Standards. Then a sane adult who learned math the conventional way weighs in. Oftentimes that adult holds a doctorate.
