Barack Obama may be gone from the Oval Office, but his “handiwork” remains. Exhibit A is the man pictured above on the left. His name is Armando Garcia-Ramirez, and he is a native of Mexico who crossed the southern border into the U.S. without authorization as early as 2008.
Last year the Obama administration began the process of granting legal status to the 36-year-old Garcia-Ramirez, this despite his long criminal rap sheet, which had prompted U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to attempt to deport him twice.
Now he stands accused of killing his 15-year-old girlfriend, formerly his stepdaughter, and mother of his child.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
According to The Washington Times Garcia-Ramirez was arrested most recently in 2016 for smuggling five other illegal immigrants into the U.S. Prosecutors declined to pursue the case. Months later he was even approved for a work permit, making him eligible for taxpayer benefits.
… Garcia’s case touched all three immigration agencies within Homeland Security: Customs and Border Protection, where Border Patrol agents were involved in the smuggling case; U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which handled the failed deportation efforts; and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, which is the agency he asked to approve his legal status.
CBP and USCIS declined to comment, while ICE officials said it was immigration judges who granted him bond in both deportation cases. ICE failed to explain why the cases were never pursued further to actually deport … Garcia from the country.
The woman he murdered, identified in local reports as Jennifer Delgado, was 14 at the time of her impregnation, which means she was underage even if she consented to sex, adding the charge of statutory rape to Garcia-Ramirez’s indictment. In addition, Delgado was pregnant with a second child at the time of her death, adding another murder charge.
