On Tuesday, Mike Dickinson, the unhinged Virginia Democrat seeking the House seat held by Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., blamed conservatives for the outrage he caused with his hateful tweets targeting the Tea Party and the NRA. He also called the NRA a “terror group,” and reiterated his promise to engage in a war with millions of American citizens should he be elected in November.
“I will be on two major network news shows this week because of all the RW outrage you caused,” he tweeted shortly after Twitter took his account out of suspension.
“If you support hate terror groups like the @NRA you are pure trash. No better than Al-quida (sic),” he said in another tweet.
He also posted a picture outlining his platform of violence against conservatives.
“If elected I promise war on Tea Party, Fox, NRA & other trash. I will go to war with these groups. I will pursue the NRA & destroy them. I will get IRS to audit the Tea Party,” the picture’s caption says.
The picture declares: “Democrats reveal strategy.”
“Said It proudly (sic),” Dickinson tweeted.
Several people took Dickinson to task for misspelling al Qaeda, the terror group that brought down the World Trade Center on 9/11.
Others reminded Dickinson of the difference between the NRA and al Qaeda.
“NRA doesn’t blow up buildings, force religion at gun point, or use women’s heads as soccer balls,” one person said.
Another person said he couldn’t wait until authorities find child porn on his computer.
“It’s only a matter of time,” tweeted “Liberal Lioness Mike.”
Douglass Ferguson, co-chair of the Spotsylvania County Democratic Committee, told this writer he doesn’t consider Dickinson to be a Democrat, calling him more of a populist.
“I wouldn’t touch him with a ten-foot pole,” he said, adding that his committee heard from Dickinson and encouraged him not to run.
Collectively, Ferguson added, the committee did not feel Dickinson would make an ideal candidate.
Dickinson is set to appear on Fox News’ “On the Record” with Greta van Susteren on Thursday, where he will attempt to defend his call for war against millions of Americans.
