In a video posted Saturday at Freedom Connector, retired Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely demands that Congress and all branches of the government do their “Constitutional duties” and demand the “forced resignations” of President Obama and other administration officials.
“Our entire government needs to be cleansed,” he said, while calling for massive deregulation.
Vallely also called for a massive shakeup in Congress, including the resignations of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
Vallely first made the suggestion in a “National Call to Action” he wrote as chairman of Stand Up America.
According to the former deputy commanding general of the Pacific Command, the current crop of leaders must be forced to resign using the “demand resignation” process, which he said requires massive grass-roots protests and social networking.
As an example, WND reported, Vallely cited the public and media pressure that led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon in the 1970s.
Impeachment, something that has been threatened many times, is not a viable option because of “partisan politics,” he added.
“Our federal government continues down the path of destroying America,” he added. “Americans must now stand up and put America back on the right track.”
He also cited the Declaration of Independence, which says that when “any Form of Government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem more likely to affect their Safety and Happiness.”
Vallely also told WND he believes the country is self-destructing “before our very eyes,” because of “our inept and incompetent leadership in Washington.” He went so far as to say the country is at the same point it was at Abraham Lincoln’s first inaugural and said the Obama administration and Congress is leading the country down a road of “progressive socialism.”
Moreover, he said, a “civil uprising is still not out of the question as ‘pain’ grips the country more each day.”
In a follow-up piece, General Vallely and retired Air Force Brigadier General Charles Jones announced what they called the “Americans Project,” described by WND as a “citizens’ commission to scrutinize Obama administration actions on national security and economic issues.”
“We The People have suffered enormously since 1913 under the combined rule of two domineering political parties of 537 elected politicians (100 Senators, 435 Representatives, the President/Vice President) along with those they have appointed. Tax and Spend, along with whatever it takes to rule, is the quest of one of the domineering parties,” the generals said. “In the opposing party, weak backbones, failing to stand up and lead for what a majority of citizen voters want, coupled with the elite of the party stealth-fully blending in with the tax and spend party, have destructively allowed the confiscation of far too much of the wages and retirement incomes from the citizens who pay income taxes.”
“We are in a war for America,” he told WND, adding that others — like Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Dr. Ben Carson, have made similar observations.
