For starters, I didn’t know that guns are a white male obsession.
If they are, as activist Shaun King posits, perhaps he could explain the Bureau of Justice Statistics data showing that 93% of the 7,999 black shooting deaths in 2005 were at the hands of fellow blacks.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. King, a de facto leader of the Black Lives Matter movement, spewed out a torrent of tweets Saturday on why white men are so fixated on guns.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
What set King off was this tweet by Red State’s Erick Erickson in reaction to the New York Times’s front page editorial on “the gun epidemic,” its first since 1920:

It’s hard to know whether King was more exercised over Erickson’s literal or metaphorical shooting of holes into the editorial, but here are some of his ruminations:

For what it’s worth, King is a columnist for New York’s Daily News, which has had a very stressful, if revealing, week.
