White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia is reportedly “transitioning out” of her role just days after taking the job.
Trump told reporters he suggested to Zacharia that she should “reconsider” her role as White House Press Secretary. Moments after the president’s remarks, several outlets reported Zacharia would be “transitioning out” of her role as White House Press Secretary. A White House official confirmed to the Daily Caller that Zacharia would be “transitioning out” of her role.
Zacharia began her role on Monday.
“Katie’s been treated very badly by the media…” Trump told reporters. “And I just spoke to her about it. I said, ‘Katie, is this for you? Because, you know, she’s been treated very rough.
“Honestly, if I were you, I’d reconsider,” Trump said to Zacharia.

Zacharia’s first day on the job sparked criticism over her Monday briefing. Zacharia briefed reporters for roughly 14 minutes and only took questions from three outlets.
Zacharia’s professional background was also under scrutiny after the self-proclaimed lawyer was found to have failed the California bar exam, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Zacharia held the job for just five days, unseating former White House Press Secretary Anthony Scaramucci for the shortest tenure. Scaramucci left the role just eleven days into the job in 2017 during Trump’s first term.
