Trump Taps Katie Zacharia To Serve As Next White House Press Secretary

By Ashley Brasfield

Katie Zacharia, a conservative commentator and former Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman, will serve as the next White House press secretary.

President Donald Trump announced Zacharia’s role on Truth Social, saying, “It is my Great Honor to have just appointed, as Press Secretary, Katie Zacharia. Katie currently serves as Senior Communications Advisor to Truth Social (Trump Media & Technology Group), where she has been outstanding! … Good luck Katie! President DONALD J. TRUMP”

Zacharia thanked Trump for the “distinguished privilege” of serving as press secretary and called it the “honor of a lifetime.”

“I look forward to working with the White House press corps, and with reporters across the country, to get that record out. Following the fabulous Karoline Leavitt is a high standard, and one worth meeting,” Zacharia said in an X post. “God bless President Trump, and God bless America.”

Zacharia, who served briefly as a spokeswoman for then-DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, currently works as a communications adviser for Trump Media and Technology Group, the company behind Truth Social, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Karoline Leavitt, who served as press secretary since the start of the second Trump administration, left the position in August shortly after having her second child.

Zacharia previously worked as a legal adviser for Fix California, a group founded by Trump special envoy Ric Grenell, and has made frequent appearances on conservative media outlets.

According to Zacharia’s LinkedIn, she got her start in politics interning at the Republican National Committee in 2006 before interning at the White House’s Office of Public Affairs during the Bush administration. She later earned her law degree from Pepperdine University in California.
