No, conservatives aren’t genetically programmed to cheat people
Bluesky social media post expressing the view that conservatives are genetically inferior and predisposed to cheat and lie

Most people are decent and law-abiding, regardless of whether they are conservative or liberal. There are plenty of safe areas in this country inhabited mostly by conservatives (such as in Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah), or mostly by liberals (such as in Vermont or Maine). The 10 least corrupt states include both Republican states, and Democratic states.

But on Bluesky, a leftist with 256 followers falsely claimed that “It’s just in conservative’s dna to cheat and lie; they’ve done studies, their brains are scientifically different. Garbage humans to the core.”

This silly claim that conservatives have evil DNA was reposted by Nicholas Sarwark. Sarwark headed the Libertarian National Committee for six years before he came out as a leftist and promoted certain kinds of socialism. Sarwark has over 4,300 followers on Bluesky, where he attacks libertarians who promote free markets, rather than progressive causes. Sarwark also reposted the claim by Eric Blair that “No real libertarians would work at Cato or Scalia Law or AfP. Those are at the top institutions of authoritarianism and control — the opposite of libertarianism.” “Cato” is a reference to the Cato Institute, the nation’s largest and best-known libertarian think-tank.

The claim that conservatives have a deep-seated tendency to cheat others is contradicted by the fact that plenty of conservative areas have low rates of fraud, perjury, and theft. The two states with the lowest levels of public corruption are Utah, which has a Republican governor, legislature, and congressional delegation, and New Hampshire, which has a Republican governor and Republican-controlled legislature.

The two states with the lowest rates of larceny theft are New Hampshire and Idaho. Idaho, like Utah, is one of America’s most conservative states, with a Republican governor and legislature. Idaho has by far the lowest larceny theft rate of any state.

Idaho, Wyoming, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and West Virginia all had very low crime rates in 2024. Some of these states are very conservative, while others are not.

Thousands of leftists gloated over the murder of a corporate executive, on Bluesky. Hundreds of Bluesky users would like to kill the rich, a sentiment that is sometimes expressed using a guillotine image. “The deluge of support I am seeing over there for murdering health insurance executives is depraved and disgusting. Taylor Lorenz is already targeting other CEOs. Lunatics,” noted a prominent economist who posts on both X and Bluesky.
