Los Angles Police arrested singer D4vd Thursday on suspicion of murdering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
Hernandez’s dismembered, severely decomposed body was discovered inside the singer’s impounded Tesla in September 2025. Her family had filed a missing persons report in April 2024, noting to officials that she had a boyfriend named David. The famous singer’s name is David Anthony Burke. Their rumored relationship was not officially confirmed. D4vd was on tour when Hernandez’ remains were found.
Sources close to the situation told TMZ D4vd was arrested at the Los Angeles home where he has been staying, and is now being held without bail. Arrest footage reportedly capturing the moment the singer was taken into custody showed heavily armed police swarming the scene.

“Our office is aware of the arrest of David Anthony Burke by the Los Angeles Police Department,” The L.A. County District Attorney told TMZ April 16.
“The case is expected to be presented to the Major Crimes Division, at which point prosecutors will review the facts and evidence to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to file charges.”
The DA continued, “At this time, additional information is not available. We will share an update on Monday once a filing decision has been made.”

D4vd was identified as a “target” of a grand jury investigation in February. His arrest comes after the grand jury heard testimony from several witnesses associated with the singer, including his daily manager, Robert Morgenroth, and his friend, streamer Neo Langston, according to TMZ.
D4vd’s legal team hit back at authorities after his arrest.
Attorneys Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski and Regina Peter issued a statement to TMZ saying, “Let us be clear – the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death.” (RELATED: REPORT: Singer D4vd Identified As ‘Target’ Of Murder Investigation Involving Allegedly Gruesome Dismemberment Of Teen)

They continued, “There has been no indictment returned by any grand jury in this case and no criminal complaint filed.”
“David has only been detained under suspicion. We will vigorously defend David’s innocence,” they told the outlet.
Hernandez and D4vd share identical tattoos of the word “Shhh…” on their right index fingers.
