Florida doc refuses to treat unvaccinated: What if she was refusing illegal aliens?

This is a dangerous precedent that vilifies the unvaccinated when we now know that vaccinated people can also contract and spread the coronavirus.

A South Florida doctor says that the unvaccinated aren’t welcome in her clinic because they put others “at risk.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Apparently, Dr. This-Isn’t-Political-It’s-About-The-Science didn’t get the memo about Israel’s surge in cases among the double-vaxxed.

Despite that, she’s not willing to budge on forcing her patients to either get vaccinated or find another doctor.

The Daily Mail reports:

A Florida doctor says she will no longer treat patients in person if they are unvaccinated against Covid-19.

Dr. Linda Marraccini said the decision was intended to protect her immunocompromised patients, such as those undergoing chemotherapy, and who are at a greater risk of infection.

The policy goes into effect on September 15, and patients who refuse to get vaccinated, she says, have the option of remote telemedicine treatment or finding another primary care doctor. …

… “I understand that people are free to choose, but to me, it’s a problem when it affects other people,” Marraccini, whose family practice is based in South Miami told NBC 6.

She says only about 10 to 15 percent of her patients are hesitant about taking the vaccine, and for those people she said she gave them a month to figure out their plan going forward.

“When it comes to the safety of others, when it comes to the fact that it’s a global health problem and community health problem, at this point, I really say that this is where it draws the line in the sand for me,” she told the station.

Marraccini is asking about the patients’ status before offering treatment. What would the situation look like if instead of vaccination status, she was asking about immigration status? Because if you’re concerned about the “burden” it is placing on the system, or how it’s putting others at risk… well, there are some parallels. And she’s been awfully specific about that criterion. Is she also refusing those who didn’t get the flu vaccine? That kills a lot of people every year, too… especially the immunocompromised she claims to be concerned about.

If a vaccinated patient of hers contracts the coronavirus and spreads it, will Dr. Marraccini refuse to treat him as well? One would suppose not. But according to Marraccini, her line in the sand is totally not-political but all about protecting her patients and staff.

We’re seeing a deliberate “othering” of people who don’t want to be vaccinated for this particular virus, and it’s going in very ugly places. It’s not just not being able to go out to dinner, see a movie, attend a concert, or go to the game — people are being denied their education, parental rights, and lifesaving treatment based on their vaccination status. It’s crazy!

Denying people their individual rights based on their vaccination status is a position that people couldn’t have imagined in March 2020. Yet, here we are.
