Strike two for Major, the younger of the two German Shepherds the Bidens adopted as family pets. On Monday, the 3-year-old bit a National Park Service employee working on the White House South Lawn. The worker required medical attention. According to CNN, which spoke with Jill Biden’s press secretary Michael LaRosa, Major is “still adjusting to his new surroundings.”
That’s the same excuse they gave last month, after Major bit a White House security agent. A report by CNN at the time noted that both dogs had been displaying aggressive behavior including jumping, barking, and charging at White House staff and security. As a result, the dogs were shipped back to the family home in Wilmington.
So will the dogs get a third chance at being White House pets? Before that decision is made, the Biden brain trust may want to recall another occasion in which one of the dogs played a key role. That was when Joe Biden fractured his foot last December. As he explained at the time in near-English:
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
What happened was I got out of the shower. I got a dog and anybody who’s been around my house knows — dropped, little pup dropped a ball in front of me, and for me to grab the ball. And I’m walking through this little alleyway to get to the bedroom, and I grabbed the ball like this and he ran. And I’m joking, running after him and grab his tail. And what happened was that he slid on a throw rug, and I tripped on the rug he slid on. That’s what happened. Oh man, not a very exciting story.
At the time one media critic raised the possibility that the story might be a coverup, meant to deflect attention from the reality that the president-elect is a 78-year-old man with brittle bones prone to falling down. But even if the story was true, look again at the details. Biden by his own admission was roughhousing with the “pup” (when you’re a manly man like Joe Biden, a full-grown police dog is a pup), grabbing his tail and the like. Could it be that Biden’s dogs act like attack dogs because that’s how he inadvertently trained them? (RELATED: When is the Left going to take Biden to task over his ‘toxic masculinity’?)
Maybe it’s time to send another Biden back to Wilmington.
