WH spox refuses to answer question about using COVID relief money to fund abortion

Since Joe Biden has made it a rule to circumvent questions from the media, it is only fitting that he would pick as his White House press secretary someone who follows his example. That someone is former Obama-era State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki, whose new mixed bag of diversionary tricks includes telling reporters she’ll “circle back” to them, dismissing questions as “unfair” or stupid, or claiming that she’s answered a question when she hasn’t.

An example of the last of these maneuvers occurred on Tuesday when a member of the White House press corps asked whether funds set aside for COVID relief would not be diverted to fund abortions.

Can this administration right now guarantee that if the American Rescue Plan is passed that no tax dollars will go the abortion industry?

Instead of answering directly Psaki spoke in general times about the funds in the plan being earmarked for community health centers, which she attempted to tie into the administration of the vaccine even though the term community health center has become synonymous with abortion clinics.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The reporter took another shot at an answer, reframing the question:

Can you guarantee Americans who don’t want their tax dollars — pro-life Americans who don’t want their tax dollars to funding abortion — can the administration guarantee those tax dollars won’t be—

Psaki ultimately cut the reporter short to say:

Well, I think as I’ve just noted three-fourths of the public supports the components of the package, wants to see the pandemic get under control, wants to see people put back to work, vaccines in arms. So I think that answers your question.

Which of course it didn’t. Watch:
