In ways, the Democrats have chosen the best possible candidate in Joe Biden. Like him, they routinely trade in lies and deceptions. During their convention they featured a registered Democrat who painted himself as a “lifelong Republican” voting for Joe Biden and they edited an audience response to Kamala Harris’s acceptance speech to make it seem there were more virtual supporters than there were.

And they’ve done worse. On Wednesday, they ran a selectively edited video to make it appear as though Donald Trump had called immigrant children “animals.” The video begins by showing children of illegal aliens in detention centers with a child’s voiceover glumly intoning, “Some of those kids are now orphans because of you [Trump].” Next came a clip of the president seeming to say, “These aren’t people. I don’t want them in our country. They’re animals.”

In reality, the video was made of three separate videos deceitfully spliced together. The group Trump was referring to as animals who are unwelcome in our country was the cutthroat gang MS-13.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The Daily Caller has released a compilation of the original clips, which are appended to the misleading atrocity the DNC showed its audience.

Fact Check

The DNC’s sleight-of-hand didn’t survive the Left’s own censors. Politifact rated it flat-out “false,” and Snopes branded it “inaccurate.” Politifact reported:

His ‘animals’ comment came nearly a year ago during a White House discussion on MS-13 gang members. Trump did refer to some people as ‘animals,’ but that was during an exchange about MS-13 gang members. His comment wasn’t directly about asylum seekers.

Even the Associated Press was forced to delete a tweet with a similarly false insinuation “because it wasn’t made clear that he was speaking after a comment about gang members.”
