Tara Reade, a former staff assistant to then-Sen. Joe Biden who claimed she was sexually assaulted by him in 1993, now has someone corroborating her story.
Lynda LaCasse, Reade’s former neighbor, told the Business Insider that the two talked about the alleged assault in great detail between 1995 and 1996.
“This happened, and I know it did because I remember talking about it,” La Casse contends.

The Alleged Assault
Reade voiced her allegations in an audio interview with podcaster and journalist Katie Halper back in March, noting that at the time of the alleged assault she viewed Biden as a “champion of women’s rights.”
“We were alone, and it was the strangest thing. There was no, like, exchange really, he just had me up against the wall,” Reade recalled. “His hands were on me and underneath my clothes.”
When the assault was over, she claims Biden said, “C’mon man, I heard you liked me.”
Reade filed a criminal complaint with the sexual assault unit of the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department, earlier this month.

Backup
LaCasse, along with Lorraine Sanchez who worked with Reade in the mid-1990s, have both stepped forward to lend credence to the claims.
“I remember her saying, here was this person that she was working for and she idolized him,” LaCasse said, providing details about the alleged attack that coincide with those provided by Reade.
“And he kind of put her up against a wall,” she continued. “And he put his hand up her skirt … She felt like she was assaulted, and she really didn’t feel there was anything she could do.”
Reade’s neighbor recalls her “crying” and being “upset” in telling the story.
Sanchez, meanwhile, said Reade told her of being sexually harassed by her former boss when they worked together.
“[Reade said] she had been sexually harassed by her former boss while she was in D.C.,” Sanchez relayed, “and as a result of her voicing her concerns to her supervisors, she was let go, fired.”
Cover-up?
Despite there being far more evidence to at least warrant a look at the allegations than there was for anything Democrats drummed up against Brett Kavanaugh, there seems to be a concerted effort to help quash Reade’s story.
The mainstream media are barely covering the story, if at all, and have failed to ask any Democrat endorsing Biden about the complaints.
The Business Insider reports that they requested access to Biden’s senatorial papers, currently housed at the University of Delaware, “to search for records that may shed light on Reade’s claims.”
According to them, the request was denied with a statement that Biden’s papers “will remain closed to the public until two years after Mr. Biden retires from public life.”
More Cover-up?
Reade also claimed that her mother called into CNN’s Larry King Live in 1993 to talk about her daughter’s “problems” getting anyone to listen to her complaints involving a prominent senator.
The Media Research Center, through the help of information provided by The Intercept, found an actual video clip of the call.

Somehow, that clip managed to disappear from the Google Play Catalog, according to Fox News.
“Twitter user J.L. Hamilton shared a screenshot showing that the Aug. 11, 1993 broadcast of “Larry King Live” was no longer listed in the season three catalog of the iconic CNN talk show,” Fox reported.
“Fox News later verified the Aug. 11 episode is not listed on the streaming service,” they continued. “It is unclear when it was removed from the catalog.”
Disgust at the Media Silence
Winnie Wong, a former senior advisor to Bernie Sanders’s presidential campaign, tweeted her disgust with the media’s silence on Biden’s accuser.
“The video of Tara Reade’s late mother calling into Larry King to blow the whistle about Tara’s sexual assault is being met with relative silence from a cadre of progressives right now and I want you all to know that I see you,” she said. “We all do.”
Another Bernie supporter, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has been conflicted, saying she will support Biden in the presidential election but that “it’s legitimate to talk about” the allegations against him.

Ocasio-Cortez is willing to turn a blind eye to a possible victim over politics.
By contrast, she treated specious claims with numerous holes in them against Kavanaugh far more seriously, suggesting at one point that the Supreme Court Justice should be impeached.
“Because sexual assault isn’t a crime of passion — it’s about the abuse of power,” she tweeted. “He must be impeached.”
By that standard, allegations with far more weight behind them should result in Biden’s at least be willing to answer hard-hitting questions about the purported attack. They should also compel the media to ask those questions.
