Kathy Griffin may not have been on hand this year to usher in the New Year on CNN, but her presence was certainly felt. Griffin, who kissed co-host Anderson Cooper’s clothed crotch on live TV in 2013, was released by the network in 2017 after tweeting an image of herself holding up a fake-blood-covered prop designed to look like President Donald Trump’s severed head. But Griffin’s replacement, Andy Cohen, helped Cooper keep the memory of her tasteless (no pun intended) gesture alive this year by discussing who in Hollywood has the largest “c*ck.”
Cohen, who in an interview with “USA Today” proudly distinguished himself as “the only gay guy in late-night television.” broached the topic by recalling a salacious question posed by Cooper’s late mother, Gloria Vanderbilt. Cooper then chimed in, filling in the blank in Cohen’s expurgated version of the quote:
She turns to me out of the blue and goes, ‘He’s not going to ask me who’s got the biggest c*ck in Hollywood, is he?’ That’s what she said.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

CNN has been struggling in the ratings game ever since it changed its slogan somewhat hilariously to “Facts First.” In September, AdWeek reported that the network’s viewership was down 36% in prime time and 41% in total daytime viewers. A December analysis found that CNN’s ratings had hit a three-year low in the midst of the House impeachment investigations.
In light of the network’s New Year’s festivities, is it any wonder?
