You know for starters that whatever group she names will not be made up of white men — that is a given these days. But neither, surprisingly, is it comprised of Asians, Latinos, or even American Indians: the group that Warren long claimed to be part of.
So what group does the 2020 presidential contender consider the “backbone of our democracy”? She reveals the answer in the following tweet, which Warren posted after being endorsed “enthusiastically and wholeheartedly” by a group that calls itself “Black Womxn For _____.” I have no clue how you pronounce womxn, but that seems to be the least of their problem.
Anyway, here’s Warren’s tweet:
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Thank you, @BlackWomxnFor! Black trans and cis women, gender-nonconforming, and nonbinary people are the backbone of our democracy and I don’t take this endorsement lightly. I'm committed to fighting alongside you for the big, structural change our country needs. https://t.co/KqWsVoRYMb
