This is Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old Swedish climate activist who recently traveled to the U.S. aboard a “zero-carbon” high-tech racing yacht instead of flying. Never mind that after the boat reached port, a couple of additional crew members needed to be flown across the Atlantic to bring the vessel back to Europe. It was the sentiment that counted.
Thunberg, who has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, is viewed by many on the Left as the voice of her generation when it comes to the ravages of global warming. Others have taken a less charitable view, homing in on “the look of apocalyptic dread in her eyes” and “explicit talk of the coming great ‘fire’ that will punish us for our eco-sins.”
Indeed in this video she looks hideously uncomfortable, contorting her face in a manner that makes her appear on the verge of either crying or vomiting. Could this be yet another case of child exploitation, of a young girl who would rather be out having fun with her friends rather than have a microphone thrust in front of her?
