CNN guest: Trump ‘may be responsible for many more million deaths’ than Hitler

Despite glaring contradictions in the argument — the Nazis, for example, went to extraordinary lengths to control and even confiscate guns, thereby rendering Jews that much more helpless to defend themselves — the Left remains obsessed with comparing Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler. It’s not just stooges, like Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.), who have sought to paint the current administration as a reincarnation of the Third Reich but “scholars” who should know better. One of them is Harvard Law School’s Laurence Tribe, who remarked in May on the similarities in “physical and behavioral resemblances” between Trump and Hitler.

Now Dr. Allen Frances, chairman of the Psychiatry Department at Duke University, has added to his name to those dubious ranks. “While debating the merits of having psychiatrists come out with possible mental health diagnoses on Trump, Dr. Allen Frances said it was an insult to the mentally ill to compare them to him,” writes Julio Rosas of the Washington Examiner.

But he didn’t stop there. During an interview with CNN’s Brian Stelter, he declared:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Trump is as destructive a perp in this century as Hitler in the last century. He may be responsible for many more million deaths than they [sic] were.

Here is Frances’s complete assessment of how crazy not only Trump but those who voted for him are, checking off as proof a laundry list of phony leftist grievances against Trump. A transcript of the money portion of the interview follows.

… Calling Trump crazy hides the fact that we’re crazy for having elected him and even crazier for allowing his crazy policies to persist. Trump is as destructive a perp in this century as Hitler in the last century. He may be responsible for many more million deaths than they were. He needs to be contained but he needs to be contained by attacking his policies, not his person. It’s crazy for us to be destroying the climate our children will live in. It’s crazy to be giving tax cuts to the rich that will add trillions of dollars to the debt our children will have to pay. It’s crazy to be destroying our democracy by claiming that the press and the courts of the enemy of the people. We have to face these policies not Trump’s person.

Meet a representative of the “party of science.”

By the way, as long as we’re talking Nazis and science, consider that the company that developed Zyklon B, the gas used by the Nazis in concentration camps (the real concentration camps, that is), later developed RU-486, aka mifepristone, a drug used to induce abortion in early pregnancy.
