We are all powerful and all knowing. We are … THE SQUAD!

It would appear House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s efforts to placate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her three freshman pals backfired big time. On Tuesday, Pelosi and the House Democrats passed a resolution condemning Donald Trump’s suggestion that if the group of four progressive Democrats, which also includes Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and Ayanna Pressley, hates America so much, they are free to leave the country.

Pelosi, who had backed down in March from bringing a similar resolution against Omar for her blatantly anti-Semitic remarks, showed more backbone this time. “The House, hopefully, has come together, standing as one to denounce the White House’s xenophobic attack on our members, on our people, and to defend the values of America,” Pelosi said during her floor speech.

The move was a nakedly political attempt to appease Ocasio-Cortez and her unruly band of lawmakers despite the fact the New York congresswoman had accused Pelosi herself of racism a week earlier.

But it didn’t work.

Squad Warns Pelosi

It took all of a few moments for the group of women, predictably, to feel emboldened by their own political power play. Rather than show appreciation, they issued a thinly veiled threat to the Speaker.

In an interview with “CBS This Morning” host Gayle King Tuesday, Ocasio-Cortez was asked if they should be meeting face-to-face with Pelosi. Tlaib interjected, essentially saying, “She can come to us.” The mountain will come to Muhammad.

“She has every right to sit down with her at any moment, any time with any of us,” Tlaib continued. “She is Speaker of the House. She can ask for a meeting to sit down with us for clarification.”

The absolute arrogance of these congressional upstarts is mind-blowing.

Threat Issued

The group then had the audacity to issue a threat to Pelosi in the form of “you had better be aware of what you’re doing next time you single out women of color.”

Warned Tlaib:

Acknowledge the fact that we are women of color, so when you do single us out, be aware of that and what you’re doing, especially because some of us are getting death threats. Some of us are being singled out because of our backgrounds, because of our experiences and so forth.

Actually, you’re being singled out because you’re a group of radical left-wing, anti-American nuts that are dragging your party off a cliff and ensuring Trump’s re-election in 2020.

And rather than graciously accepting Pelosi’s help in battling the president, they are continuing to portray her as a racist who singles out minority members of Congress, something one Democratic lawmaker described as “ignorance beyond belief.”
