When you’ve lost Cher…
The singer and actress took a jab at New York progressives for squashing a deal with Amazon to establish a satellite headquarters in New York City.
The broken deal, which an Amazon spokesman said was specifically due in part to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and her vocal resistance, had the backing of 70% of New Yorkers. It would have brought upwards of 25,000 jobs to the region. Ocasio-Cortez celebrated the news of losing such a vast amount of wealth and work on social media.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
“Everyday New Yorkers & their neighbors defeated Amazon’s corporate greed, its worker exploitation, and the power of the richest man in the world,” she gloated.
Cher, as she often finds herself, was confused. Yet she still managed to send a first-of-its-kind coherent inquiry to the New York Democrats who chased Amazon out of the state.
Are 25 Thousand New Jobs (Plus Thousands of Ancillary Jobs) Not a Good Idea For The Ppl Of NY⁉️

Ocasio-Cortez Defends Chasing Jobs Out
Ocasio-Cortez has been slammed by Hollywood liberals like Cher on one side and establishment Democrats such as Governor Andrew Cuomo on the other.
Cuomo blasted the “small group [of] politicians” who “put their own narrow political interests above their community,” adding they “should be held accountable for this lost economic opportunity.”
Ocasio-Cortez has been furiously tweeting explanations ever since. At a minimum these demonstrate that her degree in economics was more of a pity handout than something showing a breadth of knowledge on the topic.
.@AOC responding to criticism that by Amazon pulling out of HQ2 in Queens, 25,000 jobs were lost: "We were subsidizing those jobs."
Says if state/city was willing to "give away $3 billion for this deal," investments can be made in hiring teachers and fixing the subway.

Amazon is paying $0 in taxes on $11+ billion in profit.
$0 for schools.
$0 for firefighters.
$0 for infrastructure.
$0 for research and healthcare. Why should corporations that contribute nothing to the pot be in a position to take billions from the public? https://t.co/IdsuKaVOTU

Come for me all you want, but my job is to make sure that people are protected in society.
Someone’s got to look out for the people our system is leaving behind – esp now, when most of the wealth created is going to fewer people, those left behind are the majority of Americans.

It’s nearly impossible to overstate the level of incompetence one has to attain to equate tax breaks with actual revenue that should have been spent on things such as teachers and firefighters.
The Magic Is Gone
Cher taking a shot at Ocasio-Cortez is a bit surprising since they both fall in the category of low-information users of social media. Even more so when you consider Cher was singing AOC’s praises not too long ago when the media manufactured a controversy over the New York socialist appearing in a dancing video.
Know The Feeling @AOC

Good Thing You Can💃🏻,Sponsor a Bill,Put On💄,& Kick Ass At The Same Time👠👠— Cher (@cher) January 5, 2019
Ocasio-Cortez responded glowingly:
Thank you @cher! We can fix Congress and have fun doing it – who says we can’t multitask? 😉💜
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) January 5, 2019
Fantastic. You did multitask — managing to dance Amazon and 25,000 jobs right out of the city at the same time. That really is “kick ass.”
