Attention, LU readers: We need your advice

Dear LU Nation,

We need to beg a moment of your time. We are contemplating making a change to the site, but we thought we’d get your reactions before moving forward.

The change is to eliminate the “share numbers” that appear in the lower right-hand corner of photos accompanying posts and display the number of times a post has been shared on a social media platform.

Conventional blogging wisdom holds that these numbers are sign posts to the readers of which stories are trending and, hence, worth reading first. But now we are hearing from our tech crew that these numbers slow the site down.

Trending: Spygate: Nunes, ‘parallel tracks’ against Trump, and origins in 2015

Before we act, we therefore put it to you: Would you rather we lose the numbers if it means better performance or are you good with how things are?

Please let us know in the comments section below, or if you prefer reach us to us here.

Thanks for your time and input.

For your convenience, you may leave commments below using either the Spot.IM commenting system or the Facebook commenting system. If Spot.IM is not appearing for you, please disable AdBlock to leave a comment.
