LU’s report yesterday on Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, the Muslim extremist who was training captive children to use assault rifle in preparation for school shootings, noted in passing that he is the son of a Brooklyn imam with the same name (Ibn is for all intents and purposes Arabic for “junior”). But what that report omitted is that the father himself has an interesting past, which may have impacted his son’s “career” decisions.

He was born Jeffrey Kearse in Brooklyn. As a child there, he attended church regularly and  became a Sunday school teacher during his adolescence. In 1969, he joined the Nation of Islam, changing his name to Jeffrey12x. During this period he was vociferous in his belief that “white people are devils.” After the death of Elijah Muhammed in 1975, he became a Sunni Muslim and changed his name again, this time to Siraj Wahhaj, which translates to “bright light” in Arabic.

In 1995, he was named a unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Later he was was a defense witness at the trial of terrorist Omar Abdel-Rahman, aka “the Blind Sheikh.”

So what darling of the Left greatly admires Siraj Wahhaj and considers him her “mentor” and “motivator”? Here she is paying tribute to him in a speech at the 54th conference of the Islamic Society of North America (2:19 in the video that follows):

That’s right. It’s Women’s March founder and noted anti-Semite Linda Sarsour!
