On Friday, students from another Florida high school staged another walkout. Florida cable station News 13 reported that “more than 70 students gathered on the Rockledge High practice field to rally in support of the Second Amendment,” adding:

The students spoke about exercising their right to bear arms.

“We are not backing down. We aren’t taking no for an answer,” said Anna Delaney, a junior gun-rights advocate who co-organized the rally, which lasted about about 25 minutes.

Student organizers said they were affected by the Parkland school shooting and respected the national gun control walkout many of their fellow students participated in several weeks ago.

But after they said they were denied their own pro-Second Amendment rally several times by school administrators and school leaders, they were finally given permission to gather at Rockledge High School on Friday.

Chloe Deaton, another co-organizer of the event, is quoted as saying, “We should not have our rights taken because someone else does something wrong.”

It’s a cogent argument — something that has been sorely lacking in the majority of comments voiced by the Parkland shooting survivors, who for example reacted to a school directive that only see-through backpacks would henceforth be allowed on campus by observing that clear backpacks are not “cool-looking.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

So what have the networks, major dailies, cable outlets, and the left side of the blogosphere had to say about the Rockledge walkout? Zilch, nada. Another local news outlet, WKMG in Orlando, provided video coverage of the protest, a clip from which follows, but none of the alphabets saw fit to pick up the story or even acknowledge its existence.

The obvious double standard in the media’s decision is also evident in their refusal to give air time to Stoneman Douglas survivor Kyle Kashuv, who is not only a Second Amendment supporter but one of the most rational voices to emerge in the aftermath of the shootings.

Maybe what the Rockledge students need to do to get their voices heard is to pepper their arguments with f-bombs and/or boycott an opinion-maker on CNN or MSNBC.
