It’s a perfectly idiotic story, though it’s refreshing for a change to see the PC police go over one of their own.

CBS New York reports:

Mayor Bill de Blasio’s behavior in Albany was called into question Tuesday night – by some who say that a kiss is not just a kiss.

As CBS2 Political Reporter Marcia Kramer reported, de Blasio smooched his way through Albany this week – bestowing kisses on female lawmakers while men got a handshake and maybe a pat on the back.

Workplace experts said the mayor was out of line; that his charm offensive was not charming and was more than a little bit offensive.

The article quotes one Steven Viscusi, an “expert in workplace etiquette,” who advises:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

It’s absolutely inappropriate in any business environment today — with the new #MeToo movement — but even before that, that women should be hugged in an intimate way. Why should a woman have to be pushed close to you and rubbed up against?

Noting that we are in the midst of an especially virulent flue season, Viscusi takes hizzoner to task a second time for spreading germs.

The article includes a video of de Blasio making the rounds, planting kisses on the cheeks of women, and frankly characterizing these innocent exchanges as “intimate” is a bit of a reach:

In fact, de Blasio’s idol, Barack Obama, was notorious for kissing women with whom he had a strictly professional relationship:

No one uttered a word even when the recipient of his smooch was a world leader:
