Rosie O’Donnell publicly offered bribes to two U.S. senators to vote no on tax bill

On Tuesday, the House and the Senate voted to pass the historic Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which after a brief retooling by the House, will head to the president’s desk for his signature.

The measure will deliver a tax cut to 80% of Americans, but Democratic lawmakers are in full denial mode, claiming the measure is a ploy to rob the poor while lining the pockets of the rich. Obviously, they would prefer the status quo, where the government directs taxpayer funds toward such nationally beneficial ends as buying the silence of rape accusers.

The passage has triggered liberal celebrities as well, none more than Trump-hater Rosie O’Donnell, who is so convinced that the law will “f*ck the nation” (her words) that she is willing to do jail time for her beliefs.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

That’s the takeaway from a tweet she posted yesterday in which she attempted to bribe GOP Sens. [score]Jeff Flake[/score] and [score]Susan Collins[/score] to vote against the bill.

According to Title 18 §201 of  the U.S. Code:

Whoever directly or indirectly, corruptly gives, offers or promises anything of value to any public official or person who has been selected to be a public official, or offers or promises any public official or any person who has been selected to be a public official to give anything of value to any other person or entity, with intent to influence any official act shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than two years, or both.

As it turns out, both Flake and Collins voted for the bill, but that doesn’t erase the fact that O’Donnell is guilty of a federal offense.
