Guess which worthy American Time magazine is considering for its Person of the Year

Here’s a hint: He has already been named GQ’s “Citizen of the Year.” He is none other than ingrate and upstart Colin Kaepernick. The former San Francisco 49er’s quarterback is on the short list to receive Time’s Person of the Year award, the magazine confirmed Monday.

Time’s short list consists of ten people whom the editors will choose from to designate as 2017’s Person of the Year. Kaepernick is famous for his kneeling in protest to police brutality during the National Anthem, is a potential candidate for activism.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback was unable to find an NFL suitor this year after launching a national protest against racism and police brutality by kneeling during the national anthem. Yet the protest grew this year, as hundreds of NFL players kneeled during the anthem in the wake of criticism from President Trump,” the magazine noted.

Kaepernick began kneeling in 2016 to speak out against police brutality and an American society that he believes oppresses minorities. Other National Football League players began participating as well after President Donald Trump called on the league to fire the players who knelt.

This report, by Amber Randall, was cross posted by arrangement with the Daily Caller News Foundation.
